Take Away İstanbul started off as a project where designers would design for İstanbul, producers would work with designers for the realization of the products and customers would enjoy souvenirs with designer touch at the end. The project took off in May 2007, with initial talks on the concept and products. Many people are involved in the project from then on. New designers, new producers and new customers will be added to the core group through time. At the end of a 5 month preperation time the project evolved into a brand with its first sales point in Kanyon (opened in October 2007) and with its online shop. Take Away İstanbul is a new souvenir brand concept where souvenirs have a design value, are easily reachable and carriable, of good quality, affordable and most important of all represent or relate to İstanbul and her many faces. Take Away İstanbul is a brand for foreign tourists, for local tourists, for expats living in İstanbul, for those who plan to leave İstanbul to work or study abroad and for those İstanbul inhabitants who wish to have a piece of İstanbul for their personal use, or to give away as a gift.
